About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, program, test, and deploy PLC-based control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
- Develop and troubleshoot ladder logic, function block, structured text, and HMI applications.
- Perform hands-on installation, wiring, and troubleshooting of sensors, VFDs, and control panels.
- Provide on-site support to diagnose equipment failures and implement root cause corrective actions.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and vendors on project execution, design reviews, and risk assessments.
- Identify opportunities for control system enhancements to improve safety, performance, and efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in industrial controls, automation, or a related engineering discipline.
- Practical experience with PLCs such as Allen Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix or Siemens S7/TIA Portal.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with sensors, pneumatics, VFDs, and electromechanical systems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols like EtherNet/IP, Profinet, or Modbus.
- Ability to work on the shop floor around industrial machinery and lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in material handling environments (warehousing automation, robotics, AGVs/AMRs, or conveyor systems).
- Knowledge of SCADA/HMI platforms such as Ignition, FactoryTalk View, or WinCC.
- Experience building, wiring, or modifying industrial control panels.
- Understanding of safety standards including NFPA 70/79, ISO 13849, and OSHA.
