About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support in areas including equipment reliability, aging management, system design, procurement, or reactor safety and analysis
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of engineering governance, processes, and procedures for SMR operating facilities
  • Author and maintain technical documentation such as procedures, specifications, safety analyses, and design basis materials
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and industry partners to deliver engineering work across multiple functions
  • Interface with regulatory bodies, including the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC)
  • Analyze operational, design, and historical data to identify improvement opportunities and inform safety and design decisions
  • Support operations readiness activities, including system validation and procedure development for new nuclear facilities
  • Contribute to the deployment of digital tools and develop automated scripts (e.g., Python) for data analytics and process efficiency

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Software, or a related discipline)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a nuclear engineering or regulated industrial environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with or interfacing with regulatory bodies such as CNSC or TSSA
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to nuclear design, inspection, and lifecycle management
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Ontario, or eligibility to be licensed in Ontario
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and technical report writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python, Power Apps, SAP, 3D modelling, or other automation tools
  • Experience in systems engineering or equipment reliability
