System HW Applications Engineer, Sr Staff/Manager

Responsibilities

• Support customers in designing solutions using Qualcomm hardware and software for Automotive, Consumer, Industrial, and IoT applications.
• Act as a technical lead on projects, owning the outcome for supporting Qualcomm's growing portfolio of platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex issues by gathering and interpreting information across cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with HW/SW, validation, and product teams on customized customer use cases.
• Support customers with HW design signoffs, system/SoC debug, and technical deliverables.
• Create chipset documentation and provide technical responses to customer queries.
• Identify and close technical gaps or risks in processes and hardware/system aspects to enable product commercialization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
• Proficiency in C and scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to debug at the PCB, HW IP, SW, and SoC levels.
• Experience with high-speed digital interfaces (e.g., LPDDR, USB, MIPI, PCIe, SERDES).
• Ability to travel to customer sites across Asia, North America, and other geographical locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with embedded systems HW/SW design, specifically ARM-based architectures.
• Expertise in board bring-up, silicon validation, and silicon bench testing/characterization.
• Knowledge of power management areas including LDO, SMPS, Clock, and Crystal.
• Hands-on experience with Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and JTAG emulators.
• Background in Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), and system-level architecture.
• Proven experience in technical leadership or people management, guiding cross-functional engineering teams.
