About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems engineering, requirements management, and verification/validation (RV&V) coordination to support the MSFC Systems Engineering and Integration Division.
  • Support the development of requirements and verification products to ensure compliance during development, testing, and evaluation.
  • Provide technical integration across multiple engineering disciplines, system elements, and cross-program elements.
  • Assist Lead Systems Engineers in evaluating prime contractor deliverables and assessing detailed verification objectives.
  • Implement Digital Engineering best practices, approaches, and tools.
  • Identify, describe, and communicate potential technical risks and document them within the NASA Risk Management System.
  • Develop integrated schedules and tracking mechanisms to manage systems engineering tasks and identify opportunities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering (or a BS in a related technical discipline) from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in requirements development, verification strategies, and verification planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Digital Engineering tools such as DOORS Next Generation, Jira, or MagicDraw.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with experience delivering executive-level briefings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of the current SLS program and SLS Element interfaces.
  • Knowledge of launch vehicle programmatic planning processes and hardware production oversight.
  • Familiarity with NASA Systems Engineering policies and procedures.
  • Experience defining and managing interfaces, interface requirements, and interface verification.
  • Certification in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), specifically OMG Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP).
