System Engineer (SCADA/RTU) for Substation Automation

Responsibilities

• Design substation control systems (SCADA) for high- and medium-voltage switchgear using standards such as IEC 61850 and IEC 104
• Integrate systems and parameterize Ethernet-based communication structures
• Implement project-specific functions and software applications, perform testing, and coordinate interfaces
• Support on-site commissioning at facilities throughout Switzerland
• Provide technical support to project managers and coordinate with customers and internal partners
• Create customized operating manuals based on customer requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in power engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent qualification
• Knowledge of control and protection systems, RTU systems, or process automation systems
• Understanding of cybersecurity and network architecture
• Fluent German (spoken and written) and good English skills
• Ability to work independently, take responsibility, and collaborate effectively in an intercultural team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with RTU systems or process automation
• Proficiency in French
