System Engineer PV & BESS

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical interface with external SCADA, PPC, and EMS vendors to define and validate communication architectures.
• Support engineering activities, FAT/SAT testing, and commissioning to ensure correct implementation of industrial communication protocols.
• Analyze customer technical specifications regarding cybersecurity and IT/OT architectures to define equipment configurations.
• Assess cybersecurity risks and coordinate mitigation actions with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Monitor and interpret cybersecurity standards and regulations, including IEC 62443 and ISO 27001, to ensure product compliance.
• Prepare high-quality technical documentation, including network architectures, communication matrices, and cybersecurity guidelines.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Networks, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
• Proven hands-on experience in SCADA and control system integration.
• Proficiency in industrial communication protocols: Modbus (RTU/TCP), IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, and DNP3.
• Strong knowledge of IT/OT architectures, industrial networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls), and OT cybersecurity principles.
• Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity standards such as IEC 62443 and ISO 27001.
• C1 level proficiency in both Spanish and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with inverters, PCS, and BESS technologies.
• Knowledge of utility or grid operator cybersecurity requirements.
• Experience working in PPC/EMS environments with external technology vendors.
