About the role
Responsibilities
- Define the technical and commercial architecture for system-level thermal controls and optimization solutions.
- Translate customer requirements and project specifications into complete controls solutions, including hardware architecture and software scope.
- Identify required PLC/control hardware, I/O architecture, communication interfaces, and HMI/SCADA requirements.
- Define interfaces between controls solutions and CDU systems, secondary fluid networks, pumps, chillers, and heat rejection equipment.
- Support commercial definitions, including scope, assumptions, risks, project economics, and pricing inputs.
- Collaborate with Sales, Application Engineering, and Controls Development teams to ensure successful project handover and execution.
- Identify upselling opportunities related to advanced control features, energy efficiency, and analytics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Energy, or equivalent) or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience in HVAC controls, liquid cooling controls, BMS, chiller plant controls, or industrial automation.
- Strong understanding of hydronic and liquid cooling systems (CDU, secondary loops, pumps, chillers, etc.).
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, control diagrams, sequence of operation documents, and I/O lists.
- Proficiency with PLCs, SCADA, HMI, industrial networks, and communication protocols.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with chilled water plant management or data center thermal infrastructure.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Ignition, Unify, Codesys, Modbus TCP, BACnet, or MQTT.
- Experience in technical sales support, solution architecture, or application engineering.
- Knowledge of energy optimization, plant sequencing, and heat reuse strategies.
