Requirements
Two years swim team experience, OR American Red Cross level 5 swim lessons
About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide private or group swim lessons to children and adults of all skill levels based on American Red Cross (ARC) standards.
- Lead individual or group activities with proper oversight to ensure safety and reduce the risk of injury.
- Instruct and evaluate swimmers, tailoring instruction to meet the specific needs and abilities of each student.
- Maintain a punctual, organized, approachable, and energetic presence during lessons.
- Utilize teaching aids such as kickboards, diving rings, and lifejackets to complement instruction.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience on a swim team OR having passed the American Red Cross level 5 swim lessons.
Preferred Qualifications
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification (training can be provided if not obtained prior to start date).
- Prior experience instructing swim lessons.
- Background as a former aquatics athlete.
- Ability to work independently and interact positively with the general public.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
