Swanson Embedded Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and preventative maintenance on facility equipment including compressors, turbines, pumps, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Repair and maintain heavy construction equipment such as loaders, graders, backhoes, hydraulic cranes, and generators.
• Inspect equipment in operation to determine malfunctions and plan necessary work procedures.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment using hoists, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electric tools.
• Overhaul various makes of heavy equipment including CAT, Kenworth, Peterbilt, and Volvo.
• Complete suspension and brake work, install ignition systems, align wheels, and replace transmissions.
• Set up and operate metalworking tools such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders to make or repair parts.
• Ensure a safe work environment and report any incidents involving injury, spills, or equipment damage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience in heavy-duty diesel mechanics or completion of technical/vocational training.
• Ability to lift and push up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL.
