Sustainability Strategy & Policy VP

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and embed sustainability-related risk management, strategy, and policy to support business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to direct sustainability activities aligned with the bank's ambitions, targets, and priorities.
• Identify sustainability risks and opportunities through materiality assessments, data analytics, and industry trend monitoring.
• Provide strategic, risk, and policy advisory on sustainability-related activities, ensuring alignment with external best practices and industry peers.
• Lead the preparation of materials for key internal senior governance forums, including Board and Executive Committee levels.
• Engage with NGOs, clients, government bodies, and other external stakeholders to understand concerns and address potential risks.
• Work closely with Environmental and Social Risk Management (ESRM) teams to align strategic ambitions with risk management approaches.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sustainability, specifically across climate change, nature/environment, and social/human rights.
• Strong knowledge of environmental and social regulations, international standards, and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience engaging with senior management and preparing materials for high-level governance forums.
• Ability to analyze complex environmental and social data and synthesize conclusions into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a financial institution with knowledge of corporate and investment banking products.
• Experience operating within a strong risk and controls environment.
