Sustainability Officer

Responsibilities

• Deliver waste audit activities for residents, including methodology development and reporting
• Improve resource recovery outcomes through planned delivery to increase diversion and reduce contamination
• Evaluate and optimize waste diversion strategies to maximize resource recovery
• Liaise with Council staff and Cleanaway operations staff to identify community education needs
• Support and deliver waste education programs for schools
• Create communication materials including reports, presentations, and educational tools

Requirements

• Tertiary degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a relevant field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general tech-savviness
• Valid Driver’s License
• Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Willingness to obtain Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus vaccinations
