Responsibilities
- Prepare rice, sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision
- Carve and trim meats and fish to meet quality standards
- Maintain rigorous food safety, sanitation, and temperature standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and manage sushi ingredient storage
- Collaborate with kitchen and restaurant staff for timely order delivery
- Assist with inventory management and monitor stock levels
- Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize waste
- Perform opening, closing, and side work duties
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sushi Cook or similar role
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in sushi preparation techniques
- High familiarity with kitchen equipment and processes
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Active ServSafe Manager certificate
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and scheduled guest events
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods
