Sushi Chef

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to hotel standards
• Ensure food quality, consistency, and attractive presentation at all times
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in the kitchen
• Manage and monitor stock levels, ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored
• Minimize food waste and support cost-control initiatives
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery
• Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Monitor and maintain sushi preparation equipment

Requirements

• Relevant experience as a Sushi Chef
• Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and Japanese cuisine
• Experience handling and preparing raw fish and seafood
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Strong attention to detail and presentation
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
