Sushi Chef

Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi, sashimi, maki, nigiri, and specialty rolls with precision and consistency
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled according to food safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station at all times
• Assist in menu development, seasonal specials, and new sushi creations
• Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and report shortages
• Collaborate with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations
• Uphold quality standards in taste, presentation, and portioning
• Follow all hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience as a Sushi Chef in a Japanese restaurant or premium dining environment
• Strong knife skills and mastery of sushi preparation techniques
• Excellent understanding of fish handling, storage, and cutting methods
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency
• Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and ingredients is essential
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
