About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve sushi using traditional methods with fish, rice, and vegetables
- Create unique food service experiences by preparing dishes in view of customers
- Develop new and creative recipe ideas and presentations
- Build relationships with guests and listen to feedback to improve culinary offerings
- Implement food safety and security procedures using HACCP guidelines, especially for raw seafood
- Maintain inventory and comply with food rotation to minimize spoilage
Requirements
- 5 years of experience working primarily with sushi and Japanese cuisine
- Serve Safe and FoodSafe certification
- Passion for food and recipe innovation
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Professional image and clear communication skills
