Survey Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct land surveys and collect field data using GPS and GIS tools
• Implement and inspect conservation practices
• Certify and document completed practices in compliance with USDA standards
• Use engineering software including ArcGIS, Engineering Field Tools, and Toolkit
• Compile documentation and follow up with producers
• Assist in developing conservation plans
• Maintain accurate travel logs and reports
• Create and manage documents and spreadsheets using Word and Excel
• Interact professionally with landowners and NRCS staff
• Ensure compliance with USDA policies, safety standards, and security protocols

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Proficiency in computer applications and engineering/GIS software
• Familiarity with conservation practices and USDA procedures
• Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and Homeland Security compliance
