Survey Party Chief/Survey Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee all surveying operations for assigned construction projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
• Develop and implement surveying plans, methodologies, and best practices to optimize field data collection.
• Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a team of surveyors and field personnel.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to align design intent with field execution.
• Utilize advanced technology including GPS, total stations, LiDAR, and drones to capture and analyze data.
• Conduct quality control checks to verify survey accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Manage survey data processing and integration with project management and BIM software.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety standards, local, state, and federal regulations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of field construction survey experience, including leadership of survey crews.
• Proficiency with Trimble Access and Trimble Business Center.
• Hands-on experience with survey equipment such as GPS, total stations, and LiDAR.
• Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry for field calculations.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• Physical ability to lift equipment and perform manual tasks in varied outdoor terrain and weather.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) Certification.
• Advanced experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Microstation) and GIS platforms.
• Experience in heavy civil highway, bridge, power, or water/wastewater construction.
