Survey Manager - Professional Land Surveyor

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate the work of the local survey department
• Maintain and strengthen client relationships and acquire new projects
• Provide guidance and direction to Survey Project Managers, Project Surveyors, and Survey Technicians
• Ensure compliance with state-specific rules and regulations governing professional land surveying
• Prepare detailed proposals, including project scopes, budgets, and timelines
• Oversee project budgets and client invoicing
• Review and approve the quality of drawings, legal descriptions, and other deliverables
• Sign and seal completed drawings, legal descriptions, and surveyor’s reports
• Manage, train, and mentor department members
• Develop and implement departmental processes to improve efficiency

Requirements

• Registered as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the state of employment
• At least 5 years of previous supervisory experience leading survey teams
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and make strategic decisions
• Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
• Demonstrated ability to manage performance and handle personnel matters
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with overtime as needed
