Survey Crew Chief

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the work of one or more crew members engaged in surveying
• Determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours
• Read and understand civil engineering and survey plans
• Execute field work for boundary, topographic, and construction surveying
• Operate electronic data collectors, GPS equipment, optical & robotic total stations, and digital & optical leveling equipment
• Motivate, train, and lead crew and staff members on proper field procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of surveying experience
• Experience with Topographic, Boundary, Construction Layout, and GPS Surveys
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions
• Capable of taking clear, legible field notes
• Willingness to travel occasionally
