Survey CAD Technician

Responsibilities

• Prepare survey documents including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, topographic maps, and plats
• Write legal descriptions for survey documents independently
• Perform land records research and compile deeds and plats into deed sketches
• Assist with staking computations and construction staking principles
• Prepare field crew packages and point maps
• Maintain meticulous records of survey data and field notes
• Maintain good client relations and represent the company professionally in the field

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of work experience in surveying
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, and Civil 3D
• Knowledge of geometry, coordinate geometry, and trigonometry
• Ability to read and interpret DOT Right-of-Way, site, grading, and utility plans
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to stand or walk for 8-12 hours a day in varying environmental conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or associate’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or Computer Aided Drafting
• NSPS CST Level II certification
