SURTASS Technical Advisor-2

Responsibilities

• Lead technical repair activities and manage a small team of technicians for the SURTASS program.
• Oversee equipment installations and participate in the planning, execution, and reporting of new and existing installations.
• Manage daily operations of the SURTASS Operations Center (SOC), including array evolutions and message transmission.
• Coordinate port services and activities to support ship Mission Readiness Availability and Mission Readiness Reviews (MRR/MRA).
• Perform equipment preventive and corrective maintenance and respond to program office inquiries.
• Act as the Commanding Officer of the onboard COMSEC account.
• Train new personnel and provide continued training for experienced staff.
• Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations regarding SURTASS controlled spaces.

Requirements

• Associates degree in electronic technology or equivalent military class “C” electronics maintenance school.
• Five years of hands-on experience in the operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of secure networks, communications systems, navigation systems, and sonar systems.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with U.S. Navy electronics equipment.
• Qualified in all SURTASS subordinate positions.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead a team as a task lead.

Preferred Qualifications

• 600 sea days on the SURTASS program.
• Experience working in a position under instruction for at least two missions.
• Background in EKMS/COMSEC.
