Surgical Technologist

Responsibilities

• Maintain the sterile field and ensure all team members adhere to aseptic techniques
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons by passing instruments and providing sterile items efficiently
• Prepare the procedure room and verify that non-sterile equipment is in proper working order
• Assist in the positioning of patients for surgical procedures
• Provide compassionate personal patient care to ensure comfort and well-being
• Perform post-operative duties including cleaning the procedure room and disposing of contaminated instruments, linen, and biohazardous waste
• Adhere to all infection control principles and corporate compliance requirements

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist Program
• Certification as a CST from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year experience as a CST in an acute care hospital
• Experience as a GI Tech
