Surgical Technologist I

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical scrub roles on the operative field for both adult and pediatric services
• Assist nursing and medical staff with patient positioning, sterile field monitoring, and surgical interventions
• Maintain aseptic technique and demonstrate proper infection control practices
• Prepare operating rooms by setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment according to surgeon preference cards
• Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts
• Manage and troubleshoot video systems and other surgical equipment
• Collaborate with the surgical team to adjust instrumentation and supplies based on real-time patient needs
• Inventory and restock supplies in individual OR suites and specialty service carts

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• 1-3 years of Operating Room experience
• CST certification

• Ability to maintain composure and function effectively under stressful or emergency circumstances
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with physicians and nursing staff
• Ability to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks, including wearing lead aprons for extended periods
• Ability to fulfill on-call responsibilities
