Surgical Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during the pediatric intraoperative phase utilizing AORN and OSA standards of practice
• Maintain strict sterile technique throughout surgical procedures
• Prepare age-appropriate instrumentation and supplies for each procedure
• Utilize physician preference cards to ensure accurate setup and passing of instruments
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to meet the needs of patients and families
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and act as a patient advocate

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology OR High School Diploma/GED with Certification of Completion in Surgical Technology
• Must be a graduate of an accredited surgical technical school
• CPR certification (must be obtained within 2 weeks of hire if not already held)
• Ability to work at both the main and south campuses
