Surgical Tech Lab Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist students in becoming proficient in scrubbing, gowning, and gloving within a mock surgical environment
• Perform student competencies and assessments related to setting up sterile surgical procedures with a focus on aseptic technique
• Evaluate student progress according to CAAHEP and ARCSTSA standards and best practice guidelines
• Assist in mock surgical procedures across several specialties in operating rooms
• Provide instruction, supervision, and timely assessments to support student success
• Deliver clear communication and constructive criticism to foster a positive learning environment

Requirements

• Graduate of a surgical technology education program accredited by a nationally recognized agency
• National certification in surgical technology (e.g., CST) through an NCCA-accredited program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Minimum of two years of recent operating room scrub or teaching experience within the last five years

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree with a concentration in surgical technology
