Surgery Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to patients and clients
• Assist during surgical operations, including inducing, intubating, and recovering patients
• Monitor anesthesia and maintain patient vital signs during procedures
• Create drug protocols with guidance and administer medications, drugs, and vaccines
• Perform venipuncture and IVC placement
• Conduct examinations, laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging
• Maintain medical records, including documenting patient conditions and reactions
• Sterilize and wrap instruments and maintain a sanitary operating environment
• Manage medical supplies, inventory, and equipment maintenance

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience running anesthesia in a veterinary practice
• Experience with advanced veterinary procedures
• Ability to induce, intubate, and recover patients
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and create drug protocols
• Proficiency in performing venipuncture and IVC placement

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in surgery with the use of a ventilator
• Experience with orthopedic and thoracic procedures
