About the role
Responsibilities
- Schedule office- and hospital-based medical procedures, tests, and imaging
- Interface with vendor staff and anesthesia groups to ensure equipment and personnel availability
- Enter notes and special instructions into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Confirm patient insurance and obtain necessary prior authorizations
- Provide patients with detailed information regarding test preparations and arrival times
- Complete accurate documentation of informed consent and advance directives
- Ensure patients have proper medical clearance and pre-surgical testing
- Review discharge instructions and schedule follow-up appointments
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to manage a demanding workload with accuracy
- Favorable result on background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in surgery scheduling
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
