About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform daily AFM instrument operation and data acquisition to support fab process and tool qualification.
- Provide high-quality analytical reports for investigating process issues and mass production yield improvements.
- Conduct root cause analysis using surface topography characterization, nanomechanical properties, and electrical characterization.
- Lead projects to improve analysis efficiency, quality, and the implementation of new measurement capabilities.
- Collaborate with Fab Engineering and Process Integration groups to interpret data and meet customer analysis needs.
Requirements
- BS to PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with AFM analysis tools.
- Expertise in AFM instrument operation and data analysis.
- Expertise in semiconductor cross-section preparation methods.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor processes, device physics, and materials physics/chemistry.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistics software.
- Ability to work for long periods sitting at instruments and handling small samples.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced modes including CAFM, SSRM, SCM, AFM-IR, TERS, sMIM, or KPFM.
- Previous experience working in an analytical laboratory environment.
- Understanding or expertise in additional surface analysis techniques.
