About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily AFM instrument operation and data acquisition to support fab process and tool qualification.
  • Provide high-quality analytical reports for investigating process issues and mass production yield improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using surface topography characterization, nanomechanical properties, and electrical characterization.
  • Lead projects to improve analysis efficiency, quality, and the implementation of new measurement capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Fab Engineering and Process Integration groups to interpret data and meet customer analysis needs.

Requirements

  • BS to PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with AFM analysis tools.
  • Expertise in AFM instrument operation and data analysis.
  • Expertise in semiconductor cross-section preparation methods.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor processes, device physics, and materials physics/chemistry.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistics software.
  • Ability to work for long periods sitting at instruments and handling small samples.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced modes including CAFM, SSRM, SCM, AFM-IR, TERS, sMIM, or KPFM.
  • Previous experience working in an analytical laboratory environment.
  • Understanding or expertise in additional surface analysis techniques.
