About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee account management activities to achieve strategic client service, retention, and sales objectives
- Manage a book of business with the expectation to grow the book year-over-year
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client decision-makers and surety personnel
- Develop program designs and negotiate terms and conditions for clients
- Lead pricing and client profitability efforts while managing all client deliverables within mandated timeframes
- Lead and mentor account team members, providing direction to both servicing and broking teams
- Identify and engage expert resources and contribute to new business opportunities and growth pipelines
- Resolve client, surety, and vendor accounting issues, including billing and collections
Requirements
- 10+ years of surety-related and client management experience
- Proven experience in the surety industry, including program management for contractors and commercial surety programs
- Strong technical product knowledge and industry expertise
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and negotiation skills
- Ability to provide expert consultation on risk management issues
- Must successfully complete and maintain appropriate professional licensing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on relationship management
Preferred Qualifications
- Surety industry designations, such as AFSB
