About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all account management activities to achieve strategic client service, retention, and sales objectives within the surety sector
  • Manage a book of business with a focus on year-over-year growth
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client decision-makers and surety personnel
  • Develop program designs and negotiate terms and conditions for clients
  • Lead pricing and client profitability efforts while managing all client deliverables
  • Lead and mentor account team members, providing direction to both servicing and broking teams
  • Identify and engage expert resources and manage account renewal and cross-sell opportunities
  • Review contracts and bond forms to ensure alignment of obligations
  • Resolve client, surety, and vendor accounting issues, including billing and collections

Requirements

  • 10+ years of surety-related and client management experience
  • Proven experience in surety industry program management for small to large contractors and commercial programs
  • Strong technical product knowledge and industry expertise
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to drive conflict resolution and secure concessions while maintaining relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid professional licensing (or ability to obtain/maintain required licensing through continuing education)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Surety industry designations, such as AFSB
