Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with individuals and update written and electronic records
• Provide a safe environment by complying with health, safety, and infection control guidance
• Support service users with daily living, personal care, and meaningful activities
• Help service users develop positive social networks and community relationships
• Promote independence and skills development based on individual risk assessments
• Participate in the development and review of recovery support-based plans
• Provide emotional support to service users during periods of change
• Engage in continuous professional learning, supervision, and staff meetings

Requirements

• Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
• Membership of the PVG scheme
• Ability to achieve SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare within 3 years
• Strong verbal communication and IT skills
• Ability to work a fixed rolling rota including early/late shifts and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare
• Food Hygiene certificate
• Experience with electronic care management systems (e-mars)
• Experience managing challenging behaviour or safer people handling
