Support Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide day, afternoon, and overnight supervision of residents to ensure safety and adherence to service guidelines.
• Establish and maintain professional, person-centered relationships with clients while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Support clients with practical needs, including food services, appointment assistance, and referrals to case managers.
• Monitor resident wellbeing and respond appropriately to challenging or complex behaviours.
• Complete administrative tasks, including updating client notes, handovers, and service records using Microsoft-based systems.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of the facility to ensure a well-presented communal environment.

Requirements

• Qualification in Community Services or a related field, or demonstrated industry experience.
• Minimum of one year of experience in support work, ideally within homelessness, mental health, AOD, or domestic violence contexts.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and strong cultural awareness.
• First Aid & CPR Certificate.
• Full Driver Licence with no restrictions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for administrative tasks and case noting.
• Physical capacity to perform light cleaning and site duties, including standing for extended periods and carrying loads up to 15kg.
• Availability to work evening, overnight, and weekend shifts as part of a 24-hour service.
