Support Worker - Care at Home

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with service users and update records per guidelines
• Maintain a safe environment by following health, safety, and security procedures, including medication protocols, and report accidents or incidents
• Support daily living and provide personal care according to agreed needs, promoting well-being, choice, dignity, and respect
• Assist service users in developing and maintaining social networks and relationships
• Encourage independent living and skill development with reference to risk assessments
• Participate in the development, implementation, and review of personal plans
• Support service users through significant life changes or loss
• Carry out other reasonable tasks and work within internal control systems to improve service quality

Requirements

• Ability to communicate well verbally and maintain accurate records
• Basic IT skills and ability to write short reports
• Strong problem-solving, initiative, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to achieve SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent) within 3 years of appointment
• Driver’s license and own transport preferred; must be familiar with the Bridge of Don, Bucksburn, and Danestone areas
