Support Specialist II

Responsibilities

• Enter, update, and maintain accurate data in local, state, and national computerized criminal justice records.
• Process booking, arrest, and release data, including managing changes to criminal charges and sentence orders.
• Verify custody reports and supporting documentation for accuracy and legal compliance.
• Interpret judicial orders and calculate incarceration lengths, including credit for time served.
• Coordinate prisoner transports and schedule court appearances for adults in custody.
• Process bail funds and manage documentation for out-of-county or out-of-state holds.
• Respond to information requests from attorneys, media, and the public regarding inmate status.
• Perform administrative duties related to jail visitation and security clearance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years of related experience or equivalent post-secondary education (45 credit hours per year of experience).
• Proficiency in data entry within computerized systems.
• Ability to work all shifts, including days, weekends, swing, and graveyard shifts.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain composure and use de-escalation tactics in a high-stress environment.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to inmate booking and judicial procedures.
• Familiarity with legal terminology and court processes.
