About the role
Responsibilities
- Work alongside lead educators to deliver inclusive project-based learning (PBL) experiences
- Provide individualized support to children and assist those developing English language skills
- Prepare materials, resources, and the learning environment for lessons
- Spend every Wednesday in nature with children, supporting learning and land care in all weather conditions
- Co-lead learning excursions and community-based experiential learning
- Participate in team meetings, Professional Learning Communities, and professional development
- Build trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Supervise children during breaks and excursions to ensure safety and wellbeing
Requirements
- Fluent English
- EU citizenship or transferable residency/work permit for Hungary
- Experience working with children aged 5–9 (school or NGO setting preferred)
- Genuine love for the outdoors and willingness to work in all weather
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Commitment to inclusive, student-centered, and experiential learning
- Alignment with school values, including plant-based approach and environmental care
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in education or a teaching qualification
- Experience as a teaching assistant in an international primary school
- Background in outdoor education, forest school, or gardening
- English as an additional language (EAL) teaching experience
- Experience with Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or progressive child-centered methods
- Experience with PBL or restorative practices
- Fluency in Hungarian or other languages
