Support Educator

Responsibilities

• Work alongside lead educators to deliver inclusive project-based learning (PBL) experiences
• Provide individualized support to children and assist those developing English language skills
• Prepare materials, resources, and the learning environment for lessons
• Spend every Wednesday in nature with children, supporting learning and land care in all weather conditions
• Co-lead learning excursions and community-based experiential learning
• Participate in team meetings, Professional Learning Communities, and professional development
• Build trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Supervise children during breaks and excursions to ensure safety and wellbeing

Requirements

• Fluent English
• EU citizenship or transferable residency/work permit for Hungary
• Experience working with children aged 5–9 (school or NGO setting preferred)
• Genuine love for the outdoors and willingness to work in all weather
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Commitment to inclusive, student-centered, and experiential learning
• Alignment with school values, including plant-based approach and environmental care

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in education or a teaching qualification
• Experience as a teaching assistant in an international primary school
• Background in outdoor education, forest school, or gardening
• English as an additional language (EAL) teaching experience
• Experience with Montessori, Reggio Emilia, or progressive child-centered methods
• Experience with PBL or restorative practices
• Fluency in Hungarian or other languages
