About the role
About the Company
Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor that can be transported anywhere power is needed and run for up to 5 years without refueling.
Responsibilities
- Own the supplier qualification and onboarding process end-to-end
- Refine and expand quality program documentation including quality clauses and Supplier Quality Manual
- Develop supplier capability improvement plans to identify and close process gaps
- Define procurement assurance strategy and acceptance paths for various supplier types
- Plan and execute supplier audits and manage findings to closure
- Manage supplier performance via scorecards and KPIs
- Partner cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and materials teams
- Own the acceptance framework for procured items including material traceability and compliance
- Develop inspection and witness point plans for critical nuclear components
- Process and disposition supplier quality issues including non-conformance reports and root cause analysis
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Materials Science, or a related technical field
- 3–6 years of experience in supplier quality, development, or reliability engineering in a regulated industry (nuclear, aerospace, defense, or medical device)
- Ability to independently process supplier quality transactions (deviation requests, NCRs, SCARs)
- Experience drafting quality program documents
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent QMS
- Familiarity with supplier audit methods and corrective action management
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary
- Ability to work 100% onsite in El Segundo
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the nuclear industry or familiarity with NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, or ASME BPVC
- Manufacturing depth in machining, welding, casting, forming, or precision fabrication
- Certified NQA-1 Lead Auditor
- Qualified Inspector status (ASME Section III)
- Exposure to ISO 17025 accredited laboratories
- Experience at an early-stage company building processes from scratch
