About the role
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end contract process for assigned materials and equipment, including negotiating terms and conditions.
- Purchase high-quality materials at optimal costs according to project specifications and drawings.
- Research, evaluate, and develop vendor relationships to ensure reliability, quality, and cost savings.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and evaluate subcontractor proposals against budget and schedule constraints.
- Monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve issues related to undelivered or defective goods.
- Interface with engineering and construction teams to provide updates on cost, quality, and schedule status.
- Assist in developing company-wide procurement templates and negotiating high-risk contracts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering or construction-related supply chain role.
- Proven experience drafting and managing material or equipment contracts, including an understanding of terms and conditions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and potentially relocate to a project site if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of direct negotiation experience.
- Experience with SAP or InEight software.
- Thorough understanding of procurement execution, estimating, and expediting.
