About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee and plan all aspects of purchasing from pre-bid to closeout
- Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with equipment vendors, material vendors, and subcontractors
- Represent the company in formulating policies and negotiating contracts to minimize project and corporate risk
- Monitor and oversee the execution of the purchasing buyout
- Evaluate and qualify vendor materials, equipment, and professional service providers
- Process requisitions and prepare purchase orders for supplies and equipment
- Provide detailed risk assessments and mitigation strategies regarding project cost, schedule, and quality
- Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims
- Coordinate with the material management department to ensure proper receiving and control
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, construction management, engineering, or an equivalent degree
- Minimum of three years of experience in engineering, construction, or a related field
- Proven experience in vendor and subcontractor management, including selection and performance management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Knowledge of equipment and materials common in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise database utilization
