Supply Chain Manager – Transformers

Responsibilities

• Source and manage procurement of power transformers, distribution transformers, pad-mounted units, and related substation equipment
• Oversee technical specifications for transformer systems including voltage ratings, MVA capacity, and cooling systems
• Partner with Engineering on transformer sizing, substation design, and grid interconnection requirements
• Negotiate supply agreements including pricing, warranties, and long-term service agreements
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for electrical infrastructure components
• Lead supplier selection, qualification, RFQs/RFPs, and contract negotiations
• Drive cost optimization through multi-sourcing and total cost of ownership analysis
• Build and maintain relationships with transformer OEMs and EPC partners
• Monitor market trends in transformer manufacturing and raw materials like copper and steel
• Identify and mitigate risks related to long lead times and manufacturing capacity

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of supply chain or procurement experience
• 5+ years of transformer, substation, or power systems experience preferred
• Strong understanding of transformer technologies and grid infrastructure
• Knowledge of industry standards such as IEEE and IEC
• Proven negotiation and contract management skills
