About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the supply chain strategy, ensuring external suppliers meet capacity and capability demands during periods of growth.
  • Manage contract and order management for key suppliers, including the commercial flow-down of terms and conditions.
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding material spend, inventory holding, and vendor performance.
  • Ensure material requirements are planned and available to meet schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain best practice procedures for materials management and procurement to ensure internal and customer compliance.
  • Manage operational risks, perform root cause analysis, and lead continuous improvement activities within the function.
  • Oversee perpetual inventory counting and ensure strict adherence to stock transaction policies and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Must be a sole British National due to security contractual compliance.
  • Proven experience leading procurement or planning teams within a regulated industry.
  • CIPS or MCIPS qualification (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of quality systems such as ISO-9001, OHSAS 18001, or NQA-1.
  • Expertise in using materials modules within MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and people management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and present strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) or IBP (Integrated Business Planning) implementation.
  • Background in the Nuclear or Aerospace industries, including familiarity with AS9100 standards.
  • Experience implementing automation in materials management or reporting processes.
