About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the development of the regional supply chain for engineering components, parts, consumables, tooling and spares
- Review technical drawings, specifications and component information to identify suitable procurement routes
- Work closely with Engineering, Repairs and Procurement teams to assess local and direct sourcing options within EMEA
- Develop knowledge of gas turbines, steam turbines and associated components, including materials and manufacturing methods
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve lead times and strengthen supplier capability while maintaining quality standards
- Support resolution of supply chain issues from initial request through to site delivery
- Liaise with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve technical and supply chain challenges
- Build relationships with regional and global engineering and procurement colleagues
- Prepare updates, reports and progress summaries for Supply Chain and Procurement management
- Develop commercial and project awareness across Engineering, Programme Management and Procurement
Requirements
- Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or closely related discipline
- Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles
- Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
- Interest in materials, components, manufacturing methods and supplier capability
- Willingness to learn gas turbines, steam turbines and power generation service technology
- Strong analytical skills with ability to review information and draw practical conclusions
- Good written communication skills for clear technical updates and reports
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal communication skills to liaise with colleagues across Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Logistics and Programme Management
- Professional, diplomatic and collaborative approach
- Self-driven mindset with ability to work independently and learn from experienced colleagues
