About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage, procure, and plan inventory to meet manufacturing objectives and company goals.
  • Place purchase orders to approved suppliers using the SAP MRP system.
  • Maintain accurate lead time, cost, and supplier delivery data within SAP.
  • Expedite open purchase orders and proactively identify/mitigate supplier delivery issues.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers to manage non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Assist Commodity Managers with data analysis to optimize cost, inventory, and availability.
  • Ensure Engineering Change Orders are processed accurately and timely.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in material costs and procurement processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, a technical related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of procurement experience specifically with electrical components.
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP software within a procurement function.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • C.P.M. or CPIM Certification.
  • Membership in the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) or APICS.
  • Aptitude for learning commodity-specific knowledge to progress toward a Commodity Manager role.
