Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end supplier quality performance, including qualification, onboarding, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Act as the primary quality interface between suppliers and internal teams such as Engineering, Procurement, and R&D.
• Define and deploy supplier quality strategies focused on risk mitigation and cost of poor quality (COPQ) reduction.
• Establish and track supplier KPIs (defect rate, yield impact, audit scores) and drive accountability through regular business reviews.
• Lead supplier qualification activities, including technical capability assessments and process audits.
• Drive structured problem-solving using methodologies like 8D, DMAIC, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) from issuance through validation.
• Define and enforce contamination control requirements and assess supplier cleanroom environments.
• Leverage data analytics tools to drive digitalization and automation of supplier quality processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Materials, or related field).
• 3–5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related manufacturing roles.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems and methodologies including ISO standards, SPC, FMEA, and Control Plans.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Minitab, Spotfire, or Power BI.
• Proven experience in conducting supplier audits and driving root cause analysis.
• Strong analytical thinking and the ability to interpret complex datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in quality-related disciplines such as Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt or CQE.
• Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), supplier qualification, and process validation.
• Willingness to travel for supplier audits and business needs.
