Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Chassis Vehicle Dynamics (CVD) supply network partners, ensuring complete part quality.
• Participate in the early stages of the supply network partner selection process.
• Ensure APQP is performed according to project timing and mitigate associated risks.
• Verify and lead all APQP deliverables and approve PPAP submissions and tooling.
• Secure capacity and ramp-up plans while implementing firewall and pre-launch controls for smooth SOP launch.
• Drive resolution of quality concerns from Volvo plants through quick containment and permanent corrective actions.
• Lead transformation activities focused on sustainability and digitalization within the SNQ organization.
• Evaluate and drive continuous improvement initiatives among supply network partners.

Requirements

• University degree in Mechanical, Automobile, or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Proven experience in supplier quality, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle components, specifically steering and suspension systems.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, forging, casting, welding, heat treatment, and assembly.
• Hands-on experience with APQP and PPAP processes.
• Experience in the development of supplier proprietary design parts.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and networking skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently to visit supply network partners.
