About the role
Responsibilities
- Support supplier quality planning and execution of manufacturing, assembly techniques, and quality control processes using APQP and VDA processes
- Ensure all vehicle activities in the supply chain meet quality performance and functional standards
- Provide leadership at suppliers to ensure quality expectations and industrialization activities are met on time
- Manage proactive and reactive containment at suppliers
- Review and participate in the approval of boundary samples and appearance catalogs
- Oversee change management and product architecture requests
- Manage Supplier PPAPs and ongoing supply chain activities from development to series production
- Partner with the supply chain to resolve issues and escalations in a timely manner
- Lead supplier improvements in cost, quality, and manufacturability
- Facilitate technical requirement communication between suppliers and internal teams
- Conduct supplier audits and corrective actions to ensure performance and reliability
- Collaborate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine performance specifications and metrics
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles
- Validate supplier corrective actions using read-across methodology
- Support root cause analysis to ensure high quality of production vehicles
- Mitigate warranty claims through cross-functional collaboration
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical/vehicle engineering, industrial engineering, or related field
- 4-8 years of experience in Automotive OEM or Tier I environments
- In-depth knowledge of GD&T, inspection, PPAP, APQP, and VDA processes
- Strong technical understanding of vehicle development, production, and supply chain management
- Proficiency in quality management methodologies and safety requirements
- Understanding of IATF, VDA, ISO, DIN, and regulatory requirements
- Certification in AIAG Core Tools (MSA, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP)
- Ability to perform technical writing using SPC and data analysis
- Valid driver's license and passport required
- Ability to travel 40-70% domestically and internationally
