Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ensure sourced metal components meet quality, timing, and delivery requirements
• Conduct supplier evaluations to assess capability and compliance
• Establish and maintain quality metrics for press parts and structural components
• Monitor supplier performance through audits and inspections
• Perform root cause analysis on quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Develop quality documentation including inspection and control plans
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and facilitate supplier training
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• 4–8 years of automotive supplier quality experience
• Expertise in stamping, welding, and structural manufacturing processes
• Proficiency with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA standards
• Proven ability to manage supplier launches and corrective actions
