Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ensure suppliers meet contractual, regulatory, and internal quality standards for parts and materials
• Perform supplier audits, source inspections, and first article inspections to ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9000
• Conduct root cause analysis for supplier defects and drive effective corrective actions
• Manage the supplier rating system and monitor performance through scorecards and data analysis
• Qualify and evaluate new suppliers through capability assessments and manufacturing readiness reviews
• Act as the primary technical interface between the company and suppliers to resolve quality issues
• Maintain and implement supplier approval systems and corrective action reports

Requirements

• BS degree in an engineering field (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related)
• 5+ years of professional experience in Supplier Quality and the Aerospace industry
• Thorough understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9000 regulations and certification processes
• US citizenship is required for this role
• Ability to work fully onsite at the facility

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualified auditor for AS9100 and special processes
• Knowledge of NADCAP and special processes such as Heat Treat, Welding, or Chemical Processing
• Ability to travel up to 25% to visit supplier facilities
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual communication tools
• Experience with statistical analysis methods and project management
