Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive supplier quality by implementing quality plans and conducting supplier audits to ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9000 standards
• Perform root cause analysis for part defects and drive corrective actions through the supplier corrective action system
• Conduct supplier qualifications, first article inspections, and source inspections
• Monitor supplier performance using scorecards and maintain the supplier rating system
• Interface with procurement and functional departments to resolve technical problems and ensure production continuity
• Manage supplier manufacturing readiness reviews and capability assessments
• Travel to supplier facilities to provide on-site support and conduct audits

Requirements

• BS degree in an engineering field (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality within the Aerospace industry
• Thorough understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9000 regulations and certification processes
• US citizenship is required
• Ability to work fully onsite in Connecticut

Preferred Qualifications

• Qualified auditor for AS9100 and special processes
• Knowledge of NADCAP and special processes such as Heat Treat, Welding, or Chemical Processing
• Experience with statistical analysis methods and project management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to supplier locations
