Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality system assessments such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 on potential suppliers
• Guide new suppliers to establish quality systems and approve PPAP
• Collaborate with R&D, purchasing, and project teams to ensure supplier quality in new projects
• Drive suppliers to complete APQP and PPAP processes
• Develop inspection standards for incoming materials
• Manage non-conforming materials and promote supplier rectification
• Respond to supplier quality issues in production lines or customer feedback
• Collect and analyze supplier quality data including PPM and defect rates
• Drive suppliers to implement problem improvement plans using 8D, 5Why, and PDCA

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Material Sciences
• US Citizenship or a Greencard
• 3+ years of experience in supplier quality management
• Familiarity with production processes for cells, modules, PACK, BMS, and raw materials
• Proficiency in ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA6.3
• Experience with quality tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC
• Proficiency in problem analysis methods such as 8D, 5Why, fishbone diagram, and DOE
• Ability to perform failure analysis and guide suppliers through the process
• Willingness to travel 25%
