Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality plans, standards, testing procedures, and risk-reduction methods
• Review and provide feedback on drawings, models, schematics, and software for supplied products
• Establish data-driven supplier improvement plans and conduct maturity assessments
• Support Supplier Performance Management, including preventive/corrective actions and supplier ratings
• Perform scheduled supplier audits and ensure accurate reporting and agreed actions
• Oversee First Article Inspections (FAI) and ensure APQP deliverables (PPAP, PSW, MSA, Cpk, FMEA, etc.) meet requirements
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) to advise on non-conforming parts
• Conduct incoming quality verification, validation, and testing of supplied products
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, and Programmes on supplier commitments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a similar engineering field
• Minimum 8+ years of extensive experience in a Quality Engineering environment
• Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and First Article Inspection (FAI)
• Proficiency in quality assurance methodologies and ISO 9001:2015 standards
• Experience with testing tools, equipment, and mechanical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer within the Defence industry
• American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification or similar
• Chartered Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI)
